Stonington Bears (Stonington, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Plainfield Panthers (Central Village, CT), 74-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Stonington upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Bears travel to St. Bernard (Uncasville, CT) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 18. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 7-0. St. Bernard won 77-57 in their recent league bout against Griswold (Griswold, CT)

Next up, the Panthers play the Windham Whippets (Willimantic, CT) in a Eastern Connecticut I bout, on Saturday, January 15. Plainfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Whippets go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 58-49 non-league loss to Killingly (Killingly, CT).
