In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Parker Thundering Herd basketball team scored a good 41-32 triumph over the Shades Valley Mounties.

In their next game, the Thundering Herd meet the Carver Birmingham Rams (Birmingham, AL) in a 5A Area 10 match, on Friday, January 21. Parker will attempt to move on its 12-7 season record.

With the defeat, Shades Valley moves to 5-11 on the year. The Mounties host Huffman (Birmingham, AL) to meet the Vikings in a 6A Area 11 match on Tuesday, January 18.
