January 14, 2023: Belleville, IL 62226 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the De Smet Jesuit Spartans (St. Louis, MO) and the host Althoff Catholic Crusaders (Belleville, IL), saw De Smet Jesuit's basketball squad wallop Althoff Catholic by a tally of 82-42.
With the victory, De Smet Jesuit improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Vianney (Kirkwood, MO) to confront the Golden Griffins in a Metro Catholic challenge on Friday, January 20. The Golden Griffins come into the challenge with a record of 2-7. Vianney lost 68-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Marquette (Chesterfield, MO)
Next up, the Crusaders confront the Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Althoff Catholic will attempt to improve on its 5-14 season record.
