Oregon High School Basketball - Banks can't hold off Astoria
January 14, 2023: Banks, OR 97106 The Banks Braves basketball team (Banks, OR), was nudged 60-54 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Astoria Fishermen (Astoria, OR)
The Fishermen now sport a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Helens for a 4A Cowapa battle on Wednesday, January 18. Astoria will battle a Lions team coming off a 44-37 league win over Tillamook (Tillamook, OR). The Lions record now stands at 3-11.
The Braves (11-4) will now prepare for their battle against Yamhill-Carlton (Yamhill, OR). The Tigers come into the 3A Coastal Range bout with a 10-6 record. In their last bout, Yamhill-Carlton held off Rainier (Rainier, OR), 70-47, in a league bout.
