Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) and the host Bryan County Redskins (Pembroke, GA), saw McIntosh County Academy's basketball squad hold off Bryan County by a tally of 75-73.

With the victory, McIntosh County Academy improves its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host Portal (Portal, GA) to confront the Panthers in a A D2 Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 14-1. Portal won 67-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Wilkinson County (Irwinton, GA)

Next up, the Redskins confront the Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines (Savannah, GA) in a A D1 Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Bryan County will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record.
