North Carolina High School Basketball - Butler winner over Covenant Day

In Saturday's non-league outing, the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) basketball squad felled the host Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC), by a margin of 58-50.

The Bulldogs (12-4) will now prepare for their outing against Garinger (Charlotte, NC). The Wildcats go into the 4A Conference 59 outing with a 0-18 record. In their last outing, Garinger was beaten by Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC), 88-56, in a league outing.

The Lions now own a 10-11 record. They play next when they travel to Providence Day for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing on Tuesday, January 17. Covenant Day will clash with a Chargers squad coming off a 54-49 non-league loss to United Faith Christian Academy (Charlotte, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 13-8.
