In Friday's league outing, the Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers (Charlotte, NC), by a count of 70-68.

The Lions (12-11) will now prepare for their outing against Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC). The Knights go into the NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing with a 8-13 record. In their last outing, Charlotte Christian was tipped by Christ School (Arden, NC), 62-60, in a non-league outing.

The Buccaneers now hold a 16-9 record. They play next when they host Providence Day for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing on Tuesday, January 24.
