In Friday's league outing, the Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad beat the host Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC), by a count of 65-56.

The Chargers (17-11) will now prepare for their outing against Cannon (Concord, NC). The Cougars go into the NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing with a 26-6 record. In their last outing, Cannon defeated Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC), 71-61, in a league outing.

The Lions now hold a 13-14 record. They play next when they travel to Charlotte Country Day School for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent outing on Tuesday, February 7.
