Minnesota High School Basketball - East Central toppled by Cherry
January 14, 2025: Iron, MN 55751 Cherry Tigers (Iron, MN) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting East Central Eagles (Sandstone, MN), 88-70 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Cherry advances its record to 19-0 on the year. The Tigers travel to Deer River (Deer River, MN) to face the Warriors in a A Section 7 match on Friday, January 17. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 13-0. Deer River won 93-57 in their recent non-league match against Red Lake (Red Lake, MN)
The Eagles now own a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Aitkin for a non-league match on Thursday, January 16. East Central will face a Gobblers squad coming off a 80-45 non-league loss to Mora (Mora, MN). The Gobblers record now stands at 2-9.
