Minnesota High School Basketball - Cherry overwhelms Deer River
January 17, 2025: Deer River, MN 56636 The Cherry Tigers basketball squad scored 95 points and held the host Deer River Warriors to 63 in the Tigers league victory on Friday.
With the victory, Cherry upgrades its record to 20-0 on the year. The Tigers host Nashwauk-Keewatin (Nashwauk, MN) to face the Spartans in a A Section 7 match on Tuesday, January 21. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 4-7. Nashwauk-Keewatin lost 80-53 in their recent league match against South Ridge (Culver, MN)
The Warriors now sport a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cromwell for a non-league match on Monday, January 20. Deer River will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 71-51 league win over McGregor (McGregor, MN). The Cardinals record now stands at 8-4.
