In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Monticello Buckaroo basketball team scored a big 71-25 triumph over the Monument Valley Cougars.

The Buckaroo (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Green River (Green River, UT). The Pirates go into the 1A Region 19 contest with a 10-5 record. In their last contest, Green River smashed Escalante (Escalante, UT), 87-50, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars confront the Non Varsity Opponent (, ) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, January 16. Monument Valley will attempt to better on its 2-9 season record. The go into the contest with a 129-254 record after their 71-66 league loss to Salt Lake Academy (Herriman, UT).
