January 14, 2025: Heathsville, VA 22473 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Westmoreland Eagles (Montross, VA) and the host Northumberland Indians (Heathsville, VA), observed Westmoreland's basketball team overwhelm Northumberland by a score of 53-26.
The Eagles (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA). The Raiders come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Rappahannock trounced Lancaster (Lancaster, VA), 52-47, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Indians encounter the Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 17. Northumberland will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Drifters come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 50-14 non-league loss to Essex (Tappahannock, VA).
