The Verbena Red Devils basketball squad (Verbena, AL), was crushed 62-40 in Wednesday's league battle with the host Notasulga Blue Devils (Notasulga, AL)

With the victory, Notasulga advances its record to 5-9 on the year. The Blue Devils host Autaugaville (Autaugaville, AL) to meet the Eagles in a 1A Area 6 battle on Thursday, January 16. The Eagles enter the battle with a record of 5-9. Autaugaville won 72-64 in their recent league battle against Fayetteville (Sylacauga, AL)

The Red Devils now own a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Autauga Academy for a 1A Area 6 battle on Thursday, January 16. Verbena will meet a Generals squad coming off a 56-55 league win over Notasulga (Notasulga, AL). The Generals record now stands at 7-9.
