The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) and the visiting Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC), observed East Surry's basketball team overcome Forbush by a score of 57-42.

The Cardinals (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Blackhawks come into the 2A Foothills challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, West Wilkes dropped by North Surry (Mount Airy, NC), 51-43, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Falcons battle the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a 2A Foothills challenge, on Friday, January 17. Forbush will attempt to improve on its 12-2 season record.
