The Tohatchi Cougars were victorious over the host Thoreau Hawks basketball squad by a final score of 58-50 in Thursday's league outing.

Next, the Cougars face the Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) in a 3A District 1 outing, on Tuesday, January 20. Tohatchi will attempt to better on its 13-3 season record. The Eagles go into the game with a 3-11 record after their 68-40 league win over Newcomb (Newcomb, NM).

With the loss, Thoreau falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to confront the Eagles in a 3A District 1 game on Tuesday, January 20. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 13-3. Navajo Prep won 86-44 in their recent league game against Zuni (Zuni, NM)
