Illinois High School Basketball - Vernon Hills can't hold off Hoffman Estates
January 16, 2023: Hoffman Estates, IL 60195 The Hoffman Estates Hawks basketball team scored 45 points and restricted the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars to 42 in the Hawks non-league victory on Monday.
The Hawks now sport a 10-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Palatine for a Mid-Suburban - West contest on Thursday, January 19. Hoffman Estates will battle a Pirates team coming off a 56-44 non-league win over West Aurora (Aurora, IL). The Pirates record now stands at 14-6.
The Cougars (9-12) will now prepare for their contest against Maine West (Des Plaines, IL). The Warriors come into the Central Suburban - North contest with a 4-15 record. In their last contest, Maine West edged Highland Park (Highland Park, IL), 59-58, in a league contest.
