Illinois High School Basketball - Vernon Hills knocked off by Palatine
January 3, 2023: Palatine, IL 60074 The Palatine Pirates basketball team scored 46 points and held the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars to 35 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fremd for a Mid-Suburban - West contest on Friday, January 6. Palatine will battle a Vikings team coming off a 67-64 non-league loss to Neuqua Valley (Naperville, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 8-6.
The Cougars (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against Niles North (Skokie, IL). The Vikings enter the Central Suburban - North contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Niles North ran past Saint Viator (Arlington Heights, IL), 70-66, in a non-league contest.
