Illinois High School Basketball - Sterling nudges Kankakee
January 16, 2023: Sterling, IL 61081 In Monday's non-league outing, the Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL) basketball squad edged the visiting Kankakee Kays (Kankakee, IL), by a margin of 72-69.
The Golden Warriors (16-5) will now prepare for their outing against Hinsdale South (Darien, IL). The Hornets go into the non-league outing with a 6-12 record. In their last outing, Hinsdale South was tipped by Leyden (Franklin Park, IL), 71-59, in a league outing.
The Kays now own a 14-6 record. They play next when they travel to Normal West for a non-league outing on Monday, January 16. Kankakee will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 57-53 non-league win over East Peoria (East Peoria, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-9.
