Newark Vocational Eagles (Newark, NJ) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Weequahic Indians (Newark, NJ), 67-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newark Vocational upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign.

Next up, the Indians play the Cedar Grove Panthers (Cedar Grove, NJ) in a Super Essex - Independence bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Weequahic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 58-31 non-league loss to Verona (Verona, NJ).
