Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Panther Creek Catamounts (Cary, NC) and the host Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC), saw Panther Creek's basketball squad hold off Sanderson by a tally of 52-45.

With the victory, Panther Creek improves its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Catamounts host Apex (Apex, NC) to confront the Cougars in a 4A Conference 29 challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 4-12. Apex won 72-64 in their recent league challenge against Green Hope (Cary, NC)

Next up, the Spartans confront the Leesville Road Pride (Raleigh, NC) in a 4A Conference 28 challenge, on Wednesday, January 18. Sanderson will attempt to improve on its 13-3 season record.
