Holyoke Purple Knights (Holyoke, MA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Pittsfield Generals (Pittsfield, MA), 61-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Holyoke upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Purple Knights travel to Central (Springfield, MA) to play the Golden Eagles in a Valley bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a record of 7-3. Central won 48-44 in their recent non-league bout against Colonie Central (Albany, NY)

Next up, the Generals play the Chicopee Comp Colts (Chicopee, MA) in a Valley Wheel bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Pittsfield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record.
