St. Francis Spartans (Wheaton, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host St. Rita Mustangs (Chicago, IL), 62-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Francis upgrades its record to 11-8 on the season. The Spartans host Providence Catholic (New Lenox, IL) to play the Celtics in a non-league bout on Friday, January 19. The Celtics go into the bout with a record of 7-10. Providence Catholic lost 56-37 in their recent league bout against Brother Rice (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack (Chicago, IL) in a Chicago Catholic - Blue bout, on Friday, January 19. St. Rita will attempt to upgrade on its 1-18 season record. The Wolfpack go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 54-34 non-league win over Providence-St. Mel (Chicago, IL).
