North Carolina High School Basketball - Union holds off Lakewood
January 16, 2024: Rose Hill, NC 28458 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC) and the visiting Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC), saw Union's basketball squad hold off Lakewood by a tally of 42-38.
With the victory, Union improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Rosewood (Goldsboro, NC) to confront the Eagles in a 1A Carolina challenge on Friday, January 19. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 4-11. Rosewood won 40-22 in their recent league challenge against Hobbton (Newton Grove, NC)
Next up, the Leopards confront the North Duplin Rebels (Calypso, NC) in a 1A Carolina challenge, on Friday, January 19. Lakewood will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 56-26 league win over Neuse Charter (Smithfield, NC).
