In Thursday's league test, the Western Wildcats (Davie, FL) basketball squad got by the host Cypress Bay Lightning (Weston, FL), by a score of 52-51.

Next, the Wildcats encounter the Southridge Spartans (Miami, FL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 18. Western will attempt to improve on its 16-3 season record. The Spartans come into the test with a 12-5 record after their 78-50 non-league loss to Belen Jesuit (Miami, FL).
