North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe fells Anson

January 16, 2025: Monroe, NC 28112

The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Anson Bearcats to 32 in the Redhawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Redhawks now have a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Central Academy for a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, January 17. Monroe will confront a Cougars team coming off a 57-17 league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 0-13.

With the loss, Anson falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to confront the Yellow Jackets in a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, January 17. The Yellow Jackets go into the game with a record of 12-2. Forest Hills won 84-44 in their recent league game against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)
