January 17, 2023: Puyallup, WA 98372 The Vashon Island Pirates (Vashon Island, WA) basketball nipped the host Cascade Christian Cougars (Puyallup, WA), 40-39 in Tuesday's league test.
The Pirates (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Life Christian Academy (Tacoma, WA). The Eagles go into the 1A Nisqually test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Life Christian Academy was tipped by Bellevue Christian (Clyde Hill, WA), 76-74, in a league test.
The Cougars now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they travel to East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] for a test on Thursday, January 19. Cascade Christian will encounter a Rivals squad coming off a 44-41 league win over Klahowya (Silverdale, WA). The Rivals record now stands at 6-6.
