Pennsylvania High School Basketball - New Brighton overwhelms Freedom Area
January 17, 2023: Freedom, PA 15042 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the New Brighton Lions (New Brighton, PA) and the host Freedom Area Bulldogs (Freedom, PA), saw New Brighton's basketball squad wallop Freedom Area by a tally of 71-48.
With the victory, New Brighton improves its record to 3-10 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA) to confront the Wolverine in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Wolverine come into the challenge with a record of 11-5. Ellwood City lost 50-47 in their recent league challenge against Riverside (Ellwood City, PA)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Western Beaver Golden Beavers (Industry, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 18. Freedom Area will attempt to improve on its 1-13 season record. The Golden Beavers come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 60-58 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA).
