Illinois High School Basketball - Kewanee knocked off by Newman Central Catholic
January 17, 2023: Kewanee, IL 61443 The Newman Central Catholic Comets basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Kewanee Boilermakers to 45 in the Comets league triumph on Tuesday.
The Comets now sport a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Prince of Peace Prep for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 21.
The Boilermakers (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Putnam County (Granville, IL). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 16-4 record. In their last contest, Putnam County ran past Lowpoint-Washburn (Washburn, IL), 80-59, in a league contest.
