The Pierce County Bears topped the visiting Toombs County Bulldogs basketball team by a final score of 44-35 in Tuesday's league game.

In their next game, the Bears face the Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA) in a AA Region 3 game, on Friday, January 20. Pierce County will attempt to move on its 8-9 season record. The Herons enter the game with a 11-6 record after their 43-31 league win over Windsor Forest (Savannah, GA).

With the defeat, Toombs County moves to 4-12 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Bleckley County (Cochran, GA) to face the Royals in a non-league game on Saturday, January 21. The Royals enter the game with a record of 8-9.
