Illinois High School Basketball - Effingham crushes Salem
January 17, 2024: Salem, IL 62881 Effingham Flaming Hearts (Effingham, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL), 61-39 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Effingham upgrades its record to 19-4 on the season. The Flaming Hearts travel to Greenville (Greenville, IL) to clash with the Comets in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Greenville won 47-43 in their recent non-league bout against Centralia (Centralia, IL)
Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 22. Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 12-11 season record. The Orphans go into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 47-43 non-league loss to Greenville (Greenville, IL).
