New Mexico High School Basketball - Tohatchi holds off Navajo Prep
January 17, 2024: Tohatchi, NM 87325 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) and the visiting Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM), saw Tohatchi's basketball squad hold off Navajo Prep by a tally of 38-36.
With the victory, Tohatchi improves its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM) to confront the Eagles in a 3A District 1 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 5-6. Crownpoint lost 49-33 in their recent league challenge against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Friday, January 19. Navajo Prep will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 64-37 league win over Newcomb (Newcomb, NM).
