January 17, 2024: Huntington Station, NY 11746 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Walt Whitman Wildcats (Huntington Station, NY) and the visiting Riverhead Blue Waves (Riverhead, NY), saw Walt Whitman's basketball squad wallop Riverhead by a tally of 65-27.
With the victory, Walt Whitman improves its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Central Islip (Central Islip, NY) to confront the Musketeers in a Section 11 AAA-1 challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Musketeers come into the challenge with a record of 0-2. Central Islip lost 59-30 in their recent league challenge against William Floyd (Mastic Beach, NY)
Next up, the Blue Waves confront the William Floyd Colonials (Mastic Beach, NY) in a Section 11 AAA-1 challenge, on Wednesday, January 24. Riverhead will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Colonials come into the challenge with a 12-1 record after their 55-31 league win over Ward Melville (East Setauket, NY).
