The Weldon Chargers basketball team scored 47 points and restricted the host Northampton County Jaguars to 28 in the Chargers non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Chargers now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to KIPP Pride for a non-league contest on Friday, January 19. Weldon will battle a Pride team coming off a 64-39 non-league win over North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC). The Pride record now stands at 2-6.

The Jaguars (0-11) will now prepare for their contest against Wilson Prep (Wilson, NC). The Tigers come into the contest with a 9-2 record. In their last contest, Wilson Prep prevailed over Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC), 51-49, in a league contest.
