New York High School Basketball - Goshen Central can't hold off Port Jervis
January 17, 2025: Port Jervis, NY 12771 Port Jervis Raiders (Port Jervis, NY) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Goshen Central Gladiators (Goshen, NY), 64-61 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Port Jervis advances its record to 6-5 on the year. The Raiders host Wallenpaupack Area (Hawley, PA) to face the Buckhorns in a non-league match on Wednesday, January 22. The Buckhorns enter the match with a record of 6-4.
The Gladiators now own a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cornwall Central for a Section 9 Orange County II match on Friday, January 24. Goshen Central will face a Dragons squad coming off a 65-39 non-league win over O'Neill (Highland Falls, NY). The Dragons record now stands at 9-2.
