In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Sanger Apaches basketball team scored a close 53-50 win over the Hoover Patriots.

The Apaches (15-6) will now prepare for their contest against Sunnyside (Fresno, CA). The Wildcats come into the non-league contest with a 14-7 record. In their last contest, Sunnyside edged Centennial (Bakersfield, CA), 54-53, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Patriots battle the Frontier Titans (Bakersfield, CA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 18. Hoover will attempt to better on its 10-7 season record. The Titans come into the contest with a 10-12 record after their 63-38 league win over Garces Memorial (Bakersfield, CA).
