January 17, 2025: Yakima, WA 98902 Davis Pirates (Yakima, WA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Moses Lake Mavericks (Moses Lake, WA), 80-24 in a league match.
With the victory, Davis upgrades its record to 10-2 on the year. The Pirates travel to Sunnyside (Sunnyside, WA) to face the Grizzlies in a 4A Columbia Basin Big-9 match on Saturday, January 18. The Grizzlies enter the match with a record of 3-9. Sunnyside lost 68-26 in their recent league match against Eastmont (East Wenatchee, WA)
The Mavericks now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host White River for a non-league match on Monday, January 20. Moses Lake will face a Hornets squad coming off a 56-38 non-league win over Rainier (Rainier, WA). The Hornets record now stands at 12-2.
