The Union Yellowjackets basketball squad (Union, MS), was nudged 62-58 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Philadelphia Tornadoes (Philadelphia, MS)

With the victory, Philadelphia advances its record to 8-12 on the year. The Tornadoes travel to Noxubee County (Macon, MS) to meet the Tigers in a non-league battle on Monday, January 20. The Tigers enter the battle with a record of 0-8. Noxubee County lost 72-20 in their recent league battle against Kemper County (DeKalb, MS)

The Yellowjackets now own a 9-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eupora for a 2A Region 4 battle on Tuesday, January 21. Union will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 47-32 league loss to J.Z. George (North Carrollton, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 2-19.
