In Saturday's league test, the Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Towanda Black Knights (Towanda, PA), by a score of 72-62.

Next, the Wildcats encounter the Canton Warriors (Canton, PA) in a Northern Tier test, on Wednesday, January 21. Athens will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Warriors come into the test with a 0-14 record after their 53-17 league loss to Sayre (Sayre, PA).

The Black Knights now own a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cowanesque Valley for a Northern Tier battle on Wednesday, January 21. Towanda will meet a Indians squad coming off a 61-48 league loss to North Penn-Liberty (Liberty, PA). The Indians record now stands at 4-8.
