Virginia High School Basketball - Monticello ripped by Fort Defiance

January 18, 2023: Charlottesville, VA 22902

The Fort Defiance Indians basketball team scored 78 points and held the host Monticello Mustangs to 57 in the Indians non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Indians now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Stuarts Draft for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. Fort Defiance will meet a Cougars team coming off a 53-28 league loss to Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 2-12.

The Mustangs (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA). The Warriors enter the Jefferson contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Western Albemarle was routed by Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA), 40-27, in a league contest.
