North Carolina High School Basketball - Union Academy knocked off by Monroe

January 18, 2023: Monroe, NC 28110

The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 46 points and held the host Union Academy Cardinals to 29 in the Redhawks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Redhawks now sport a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Stanly for a 2A/3A Conference 44 contest on Friday, January 20. Monroe will battle a Colts team coming off a 56-46 league win over Central Academy (Monroe, NC). The Colts record now stands at 5-12.

The Cardinals (8-6) will now prepare for their contest against Robinson (Concord, NC). The Bulldogs enter the 1A/2A Conference 35 contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Robinson was defeated by North Stanly (New London, NC), 53-31, in a league contest.
