The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 38 points and held the visiting Anson Bearcats to 31 in the Redhawks league triumph on Tuesday.

The Redhawks now sport a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Porter Ridge for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 4. Monroe will battle a Pirates team coming off a 57-44 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 6-8.

The Bearcats (1-9) will now prepare for their contest against Central Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cougars enter the 2A/3A Conference 44 contest with a 0-10 record. In their last contest, Central Academy was nudged by Community School of Davidson (Davidson, NC), 63-29, in a non-league contest.
