The Berkley Bears (Berkley, MI) basketball knocked off the host Pontiac Phoenix (Pontiac, MI), 62-52 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Bears (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Avondale (Auburn Hills, MI). The Yellowjackets go into the Oakland - Blue test with a 8-4 record.

The Phoenix now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to University for a Oakland - Blue test on Tuesday, January 23. Pontiac will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 59-58 league loss to Stoney Creek (Rochester Hills, MI). The Eagles record now stands at 2-10.
