Charlestown Pirates (Charlestown, IN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Salem Lions (Salem, IN), 42-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Charlestown upgrades its record to 15-6 on the season. The Pirates travel to Seymour (Seymour, IN) to clash with the Owls in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 9-11. Seymour lost 66-36 in their recent non-league bout against Franklin Community (Franklin, IN)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Mitchell Bluejackets (Mitchell, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The Bluejackets go into the bout with a 1-20 record after their 49-38 league loss to Paoli (Paoli, IN).
