Florida High School Basketball - Mitchell thwarts Hernando

The Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL) basketball knocked off the host Hernando Leopards (Brooksville, FL), 49-41 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (11-7) will now prepare for their test against Wesley Chapel (Wesley Chapel, FL). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 12-7 record. In their last test, Wesley Chapel notched a victory over Land O' Lakes (Land O' Lakes, FL), 60-44, in a non-league test.

The Leopards now own a 11-9 record. They play next when they host Central for a 4A District 9 test on Friday, January 19. Hernando will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 55-4 non-league loss to Springstead (Spring Hill, FL). The Bears record now stands at 0-14.
