Jefferson Lions (Jefferson, OR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Taft Tigers (Lincoln City, OR), 72-67 in a league bout.

With the win, Jefferson upgrades its record to 13-1 on the season. The Lions host Amity (Amity, OR) to play the Warriors in a 3A PacWest bout on Friday, January 19. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Amity won 62-31 in their recent league bout against Santiam Christian (Corvallis, OR)

Next up, the Tigers play the Scio Loggers (Scio, OR) in a 3A PacWest bout, on Friday, January 19. Taft will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Loggers go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 39-33 league loss to Dayton (Dayton, OR).
