January 18, 2025: Greenwood, MS 38930 Delta Streets Academy Lions (Greenwood, MS) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Pillow Academy Mustangs (Greenwood, MS), 81-37 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Delta Streets Academy advances its record to 14-8 on the year. The Lions host St. Joseph (Greenville, MS) to face the Fighting Irish in a MAIS 4A District 2 match on Monday, January 20. The Fighting Irish enter the match with a record of 3-8. The Mustangs now own a 0-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rossville Christian Academy for a MAIS 5A District 1 match on Tuesday, January 21. Pillow Academy will face a Wolves squad coming off a 60-45 league win over Bayou Academy (Cleveland, MS). The Wolves record now stands at 17-8.
