In Saturday's league contest, the visiting Spencer Greenwave basketball team scored a close 41-38 triumph over the Sumter County Panthers.

The Greenwave (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Westlake (Atlanta, GA). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Westlake was tipped by Carrollton (Carrollton, GA), 58-55, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Columbus Blue Devils (Columbus, GA) in a AA Region 1 contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Sumter County will attempt to better on its 8-8 season record. The Blue Devils go into the contest with a 8-11 record after their 68-64 league win over Kendrick (Columbus, GA).
