Kentucky High School Basketball - Boyd County nudges Montgomery County
January 18, 2025: Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) and the host Montgomery County Indians (Mt. Sterling, KY), observed Boyd County's basketball team edge Montgomery County by a score of 53-47.
The Lions (11-5) will now prepare for their challenge against West Carter (Olive Hill, KY). The Comets come into the non-league challenge with a 6-8 record. In their last challenge, West Carter edged Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY), 59-9, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Indians encounter the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees (Bardstown, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 20. Montgomery County will attempt to improve on its 11-5 season record. The Eagles/Banshees come into the challenge with a 13-1 record after their 73-41 non-league win over North Bullitt (Shepherdsville, KY).
