Mississippi High School Basketball - Northwest Rankin overwhelms Brookhaven

The Northwest Rankin Cougars basketball team scored 65 points and limited the host Brookhaven Panthers to 26 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cougars now possess a 18-5 record. They play next when they host Brandon for a 7A Region 3 game on Tuesday, January 21. Northwest Rankin will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 44-41 league loss to Meridian (Meridian, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Brookhaven falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Panthers host Provine (Jackson, MS) to confront the Rams in a 5A Region 3 game on Tuesday, January 21. The Rams go into the game with a record of 5-13. Provine lost 58-44 in their recent non-league game against Vicksburg (Vicksburg, MS)
