Georgia High School Basketball - Miller County holds off Cairo

January 18, 2025: Colquitt, GA 39837

In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Miller County Pirates basketball team scored a close 47-40 triumph over the Cairo Syrupmakers.

The Pirates (6-10) will now prepare for their contest against Pataula Charter Academy (Edison, GA). The Panthers go into the A D2 Region 1 contest with a 4-12 record. In their last contest, Pataula Charter Academy was tipped by Seminole County (Donalsonville, GA), 57-31, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Syrupmakers confront the Monroe Golden Tornadoes (Albany, GA) in a AAA Region 1 contest, on Friday, January 24. Cairo will attempt to better on its 0-12 season record. The Golden Tornadoes go into the contest with a 14-5 record after their 66-35 non-league win over Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA).
